Best Releases this Week
There's been a few gems dropped this week. Here's 2 noteworthy albums to vibe out to this weekend..
The Weeknd - My Dear Melancholy,
Though you've probably seen this album blowing up the net by now, if you're a fan, you've got to be happy with this project. Though only 6 songs long, Abel goes solo with no features, and ventures back to his ominous roots. The EP is a perfect mixture of the dark, raw sound he's patented, paired with fresh melodic producers - even collaborating with French industrial-techno composer Gessafelstein, who also contributed to Kanye's Yeezus album. The Weeknd comes correct once again and brings us to the vibes reminiscent of Trilogy and Kiss Land.
SAINt JHN - Collection One
Brooklyn native SAINt JHN makes an impressive first impression with his debut album Collection One. Though delivering a trap/hip-hop/r&b sound we're familiar with, his smart and diverse production choices, from Nico & Vinz, Gorgon City, and Usher, help his sound cut thru and maintain a uniquely fresh vibe. The New Yorker showcases a broad range of styles while keeping the project cohesive.
